Alcohol Alternatives
Is there a drug that can give you the effects of alcohol but not give you hangovers or damage to your liver?

Spend a couple of years in a dry country - you'll soon get out of the habit.

Just do what I do. Get as pissed as you want and wake up hangover free. Much easier.

43 years old and never had a hangover in my life. Fuck me I've deserved them, but somehow wake up fine next day.

If you’re wanting to replace an addiction, remember that people can also get addicted to positive things like exercise highs.

Re: Alcohol Alternatives
No.

But 0% alcohol beers have improved dramatically in recent years. It's easier now to consume similar quantities as regular drinkers - at one time pubs might have a couple of bottles on a shelf but a lot stock far more now.

Try Bavaria 0% lager - £2 for 4 330ml cans, or £2.25 for four bottles in Tesco.

The rest of the work is down to you, you have to change your mindset from assuming only alcohol gives you the buzz.

Re: Alcohol Alternatives
Should say that pub prices for 0% drinks is priced the same as regular alcohol - which is taking the piss as there is no tax duty to pay on it.

Re: Alcohol Alternatives
I had to go gluten free last year, meaning I had to opt for gluten free beers. Since doing this I've noticed I don't get such a thumping headache or puke my guts up in the morning, something I would have to do regularly after a heavy session.

Not saying that would work but I've noticed I don't feel as bad the next day.

Some people don't produce the right enzymes to handle alcohol. One of our avid supporters Mr R E Grant is one example.

Re: Alcohol Alternatives
Nothing has ever replaced that buzz I used to get on a Friday afternoon down the pub. The trouble was I didn't know when to stop, I'd then drink right through the weekend. Then wake on Monday morning feeling completely fucked and highly anxious.
